Vezeris & Ehrlich was incorporated in January 2014, but the history of the partnership between Steve and Zack goes back several years before this. Steve opened the doors for bookkeeping and small business support in 2003, working out of his home. In 2004, he moved his office into the historic Flood Building. Zack came on board in 2006 as a part-time employee. Over the years, Zack took on increasing amounts of responsibility and the business grew as their collaboration strengthened. Over the years, we added a small team of part-time bookkeepers to support our clients.

In late 2013, we decided to incorporate as the best approach to achieve the company’s goals and to better invest time and effort in strengthening our commitment to our clients. 

In late 2018, with increasing San Francisco rent and a newborn (as of Aug), we packed up and moved up north! Zack and his wife, newborn daughter and dog moved to Petaluma where the business is now located. Steve moved up to Mt. Hood, OR.

We continue to work closely together and have a thriving business and business partnership.

Vezeris & Ehrlich, Inc., primarily works with small businesses, start-ups and non-profit organizations, regardless of where they may be in their own life-cycles. We provide bookkeeping set-up, clean-up and on-going support for clients. Our approach and range of services are tailored to each client, changing over time as their needs change or as they grow and expand. 

Our objective is to work with our clients to make them successful, focusing on the back-office support and financial reports required to keep a business healthy. We understand that this is a collaborative effort, no one works in a vacuum – dialogue is critical. For small businesses, this means that owners can focus on their passion to grow their business. For non-profits, we provide a level of continuity as board members rotate on and off the board of directors.

Zack Ehrlich

After graduating from UC Santa Cruz with a Bachelors degree in Music, Zack moved to San Francisco in 2005 to pursue his professional career. With an affinity for task organization and a mathematical mindset, in 2006 he met Steve where he pursued in-depth knowledge of Financial Administration, Bookkeeping, Financial Management, and everything in between by working with many various clients. From Afterschool Arts programs, Non-Profits, Law firms, Synagogues, Salons, Bakeries, to many other Small Businesses and Sole  Proprietors, he has had a wide array of experience. 

He finds much enjoyment in helping small businesses and collaborating with clients and his co-workers to provide support and solutions. After more than 14 years, he continues to be dedicated to helping small businesses pursue their goals as best he can.

Zack balances his life with surfing and music and currently lives in Petaluma, California with his wife & daughter.

Steve Vezeris

Steve started this business in 2003 after more than 15 years in corporate management positions in Baltimore and San Francisco, followed by an additional 5 years as an owner of a small property management firm in SF. Being a natural collaborator and number cruncher since he was a kid, it was an inevitable evolution to work with other folks to realize their small business dreams by supporting their bookkeeping needs. 

Steve brings his extensive experience in Accounting, Data Analysis, Project Management, Systems Engineering, and IT to the table when working with clients to not only find the answers, but to also ask better questions.

He is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University (BA) and Northwestern University (MS). He lives in San Francisco gardening in the fog, hiking with his dog, contemplating the Tao and developing a qigong discipline.

Steve currently lives in Mt. Hood, Oregon and works out of his beautiful office on the mountain.
